Mt. Maude/Entiats

A few years ago, we hiked the Leroy Carne High Route and camped/explore the Larch-filled alpine playground. That trip had its fair share of adventures, but one of the biggest takeaways for Katy and I was that we wanted to come back and scramble to some of the Entiat summits.

When this early-October weekend came around, we got lucky with some gorgeous, warm, clear weather, so we hopped in the car and drove east towards the hills. We were rewarded with an awesome adventure and gorgeous autumn colors.

Enchantments Scrambling

After I got a taste of the Enchantments a couple weeks ago I was itching to get back. I especially wanted to share those views with Kaytlyn.

Goat Rocks Wilderness – Backpacking

Matt’s an amazing friend and was my roommate at UW-Madison my Junior year.
Among other things, he and his fiance Greta were there when Katy and I first met at Grand Targhee, and we’ve all been snowboard and adventure buddies since. Plus, they definitely helped influence our decision to move to the PNW!
So when it came to planning Matt’s bachelor party weekend, I wanted to make sure we had all the elements that would keep the stoke high all weekend.

Hidden Lake Trail

I’m not sure if nostalgia is the right word. It wasn’t quite the feeling that “I’d been there before”, but more of “This is familiar. This feels right.”

As the view sank in, the breeze picked up: the fresh alpine air that feels like the antithesis to every city breath.
